Care Without Judgment

What happens when a young person in crisis is met with compassion instead of judgment?

When peer educator Umukulthum Almass Muhina found a teenager alone by the roadside, hunched over in pain, she drew on her training and knew she needed to act.

She helped the teenager reach a youth-friendly health center, where providers identified complications from an unsafe abortion and gave her the care she needed.

In our new video, Care Without Judgment: Youth-Friendly Reproductive Healthcare in Tanzania, Umukulthum shares how timely, respectful care changed the course of one young person’s life.

This story is part of a new video series from EngenderHealth’s Scaling Up Family Planning programExplore the full playlist to meet more people advancing survivor-centered services, disability-inclusive care, contraceptive choice, and stronger health systems across Tanzania.
