Postabortion Care (PAC) Curriculum

Postabortion care (PAC) is a package of lifesaving interventions that combines maternal healthcare (emergency treatment for complications of induced or spontaneous abortion) with voluntary contraceptive counseling and service delivery. When PAC is accessible, affordable, high quality, and performed by capable healthcare providers, it can prevent maternal deaths and disabilities and improve access to contraception.

This revised PAC curriculum—which includes a Trainer Guide, Participant Guide, Reference Manual, and related slide decks—builds upon an earlier version published in 2010. It incorporates key updates from a variety of critical resources and reflects global health learnings from the past decade.
