Amadou Mahtar Ba
Amadou Mahtar Ba is Co-Founder & Executive Chair of AllAfrica, the largest electronic distributor of African news and information worldwide. Previously, Ba served as Director of Development & Communications at BICIS Bank and as special adviser to Inland Bank in Nigeria.
Ba sits on several boards and has participated in working groups including the UN Secretary General’s High-Level Panel on Women’s Economic Empowerment, the World Economic Forum’s Network of Global Future Councils, the United Arab Emirates’s Global Council on SDGs, and the Africa Policy Advisory Board for the ONE Campaign. He also served on the panel of judges for the CNN African Journalist Award.
Ba was educated in Senegal, France, and Spain. He is fluent in five languages: French, English, Spanish, Fulani (Fulfulde), and Wolof. He holds a master’s degree from the École des nouveaux métiers de la communication (EFAP) in Paris and a bachelor’s Degree from Paris 7 University (Université Paris Diderot, Campus Universitaire de Jussieu).
