International Women’s Day
Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls.
This year’s International Women’s Day calls for Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL women and girls.
At EngenderHealth, those principles take shape in clinics, in counseling conversations, and in national health budgets.
When women and girls can decide if and when to become pregnant, maternal health risks decline. Educational opportunity expands. Economic participation increases. Families are better prepared for the future.
Her health shapes her future.
This International Women’s Day, we invite you to turn rights into action.

Turning Rights into Practice
Gender equality depends on systems that protect women’s autonomy in everyday life.
Across Ethiopia, Nigeria, Tanzania, Kenya, India, and West Africa, EngenderHealth works alongside Ministries of Health and local organizations to ensure reproductive health services are voluntary, informed, and sustainable. This includes strengthening provider training in client-centered counseling, integrating family planning into postpartum care, supporting ethical method introduction such as hormonal IUD scale-up, and advancing domestic financing to reduce reliance on external aid.
When women have access to high-quality reproductive health care, gains extend beyond individual outcomes. Maternal and newborn health improves. Girls remain in school. Families gain stability. Health systems become more resilient.
This is how equality moves from principle to practice.
Give to Gain
This year’s broader International Women’s Day theme reminds us that when we invest in women’s health, communities gain.
Giving generates measurable gains:
- Gains in autonomy and informed decision-making
- Gains in maternal and newborn outcomes
- Gains in educational and economic opportunity
- Gains in long-term public health infrastructure
These gains are sustained through steady partnership and locally led leadership.
