MOMENTUM Safe Surgery in Family Planning and Obstetrics is looking forward to joining thousands of care providers, advocates, experts, leaders, policymakers and others who are coming together at the 2023 International Maternal and Newborn Health Conference to reaffirm our commitments to sharing, collaborating, and accelerating efforts to save maternal and newborn lives. The project team will be sharing their experiences on a variety of topics at the conference, including: maternal and perinatal death surveillance and response (MPDSR); analysis of surgical data collected through routine health information systems (RHIS); innovative approaches to working with women with fistula.

USAID’s MOMENTUM suite is composed of six global awards, all working to accelerate reduction in maternal, newborn, and child morbidity and mortality in priority countries.

MOMENTUM Safe Surgery in Family Planning and Obstetrics, led by EngenderHealth with partners IntraHealth International, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs (CCP), works with country partners to build awareness of and provide equitable access to high-quality obstetric and family planning surgical care, including cesarean delivery, peripartum hysterectomy, fistula repair, and provision of long-acting, reversible, and permanent contraceptive methods.

Please visit the MOMENTUM booth in the Technical Marketplace and join us on Tuesday, May 9 at 5:30PM SAST (South African Standard Time) in the Westin’s East Ballroom for our marketplace-style reception, where you can mingle with attendees to share insights about your work and learn about MOMENTUM’s work across a wide variety of countries and topics.
