You create a fundraiser, share it with people you know, and invite them to support access to reproductive health care. Together, that helps more people get the services and information they need to make informed decisions about their bodies, their health, and their futures. 

Nope! Most fundraisers are powered by friends, family, and a few group chats. You don’t need a big audience. You just need a reason—and expanding access to reproductive choice is a powerful one.

Start with why you care about sexual and reproductive health and rights. 

Whether it’s access to contraception, safe pregnancy and childbirth, or ensuring people have real choices about their futures—say that in your own words. That’s what people connect to. 

You don’t need to be an expert. Caring about reproductive health and rights is enough. If you want to learn more, you can always point people to EngenderHealth’s work, but your voice is what brings people in. 

Access to reproductive healthcare changes everything. 

It means safer pregnancies, healthier families, and the ability for people to decide if and when to have children. But too many still face barriers to care, information, and services. 

That’s why EngenderHealth works to expand access to contraception, support safe pregnancy and childbirth, and strengthen healthcare systems so people can get the care they need—when they need it. 

Your fundraiser helps make that possible. 

Pick a number that feels realistic—and don’t be afraid to aim high. 

Some people start with a goal of $250. Others raise $5,000 or more through birthdays, events, or challenges like running a marathon. You can always adjust your goal as you go. 

To give you a sense of what your fundraiser can support: 

• $250 can help improve care at local health clinics  
• $500 can help train doctors and nurses in maternal and newborn care  
• $1,000 can help expand access to reproductive healthcare or provide life-changing fistula surgery  
• $2,500 can help scale integrated health programs for women and youth  
• $5,000 can help strengthen local health systems  
• $10,000 can help build local partnerships that drive lasting change  

Start where you can. Grow it as you go. Every dollar helps expand access to reproductive healthcare and protects the right to choose. 

You’ll get a personal link as soon as your fundraiser is live. 

Share it however you want—text, email, social, or through your unique QR code. People can donate in just a few clicks and join you in expanding access to reproductive healthcare and protecting the right to choose. 

Yes. Anytime. 

Click the “manage my fundraiser” button in your welcome email to access your fundraising portal. From there, you can update your title, photo, message, and goal, and post progress updates to keep people engaged. 

No, you can absolutely get started without one. 

Adding a photo can help your fundraiser feel more personal and connect with your network. Many people use a photo of themselves, a group they’re fundraising with, or something that reflects why this matters to them. 

If you’d rather not use your own, you can also choose from EngenderHealth’s image library. 

You can always add or change your photo later. 

Absolutely! You can create a team fundraiser and invite others to join—whether it’s friends, family, coworkers, or a group taking on a challenge together. Fundraising as a team builds energy, expands your reach, and brings more people into supporting access to reproductive healthcare. 

Fundraising as a team works especially well when you’re: 

• Taking on a shared challenge, like a marathon or endurance event, and fundraising together  
• Bringing colleagues together around a common cause, like reproductive health and rights  
• Organizing through a school or student group to support access to contraception and care  
• Rallying friends or family to support reproductive choice and healthier futures  

Once you set up your fundraiser, you’ll get a link to invite others to join your team. Each person will have their own login and personal fundraising page to share with their network, but all contributions will count toward your team’s total. 

You’ll also be able to track progress across your team in your fundraising portal—so you can celebrate milestones, keep each other motivated, and grow your impact  together. 

That feeling is totally normal! But you’re not asking for yourself—you’re inviting people to support something that matters. Giving people the chance to stand behind reproductive health and rights is something most people are glad to be part of. 

If it helps, you can start with one of these—and make it your own: 

• Access to care: “I’m raising funds with EngenderHealth because access to reproductive healthcare changes everything—health, opportunity, and stability. I’d love for you to be part of it.” 
• Contraceptive care: “I’m raising funds with EngenderHealth to support access to contraception and reproductive healthcare. Everyone deserves the ability to make informed choices about their body and their future. Join me if you can.” 
• Maternal and newborn health: “I’m supporting EngenderHealth’s work to make pregnancy and childbirth safer for women and newborns. Access to quality care should never depend on where you live.” 
• Comprehensive abortion care: “I’m fundraising with EngenderHealth to support access to safe, respectful abortion care. People deserve the ability to make their own decisions about their bodies and their futures.” 
• Ending gender-based violence (GBV): “I’m supporting EngenderHealth’s work to prevent and respond to gender-based violence. Everyone deserves to live free from violence and access the care and support they need.” 

Your fundraiser supports EngenderHealth’s work to expand access to sexual and reproductive healthcare. 

That includes contraception, maternal and newborn health services, and ensuring people have the information and care they need to make informed decisions about their lives. 

EngenderHealth is the beneficiary of the funds you raise. All donations support our work advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights.

While you can reference EngenderHealth, we do not organize or manage individual fundraisers and are not responsible for activities connected to them. 

You’re responsible for how your fundraiser is run. That includes promoting it, organizing any related activities, and making sure everything follows local laws and guidelines. If you host an event, you’re responsible for any required permits or approvals. 

Creating a fundraiser does not create a formal partnership or legal relationship with EngenderHealth. 

Yes. Donations made directly to EngenderHealth are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Donors should check with a tax advisor if they have questions.
