Summary

With support from UNICEF, EngenderHealth embarked on a two-month project to improve the survival of newborn girls by addressing gender differentials in newborn care in the Sitamarhi district of Bihar, India. Adolescent Girl Champions (AGCs) were identified and trained to disseminate messages on healthy newborn care practices to the families of newborn girls. In this webinar, AGCs and representatives from the Government of India’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, EngenderHealth, UNICEF India, and The David and Lucile Packard Foundation discuss key findings from the project.
