EngenderHealth Sweeps Health Category at the 5th Annual Anthem Awards for its “Let’s Do Something” Campaign
November 18, 2025 (WASHINGTON, D.C.): EngenderHealth’s Let’s Do Something campaign earned both Gold and the Community Voice Award in the Health: Donor & Volunteer Engagement category at the 5th Annual Anthem Awards, which celebrate the world’s most impactful purpose-driven work.
Selected by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), Let’s Do Something was recognized for inspiring collective action around sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and for demonstrating how small, consistent steps can drive lasting global change.
Launched in summer 2025, during EngenderHealth’s traditionally slowest giving season, the campaign shifted uncertainty into empowerment. It encouraged people everywhere to turn the feeling of “I gotta do something” into meaningful action, whether by becoming a monthly donor, sharing the message on social media, or hosting their own “Do Something” event.
“This campaign reminded us that everyone has a role to play,” said Traci L. Baird, President and CEO of EngenderHealth. “From our teams across Africa and India to new supporters worldwide, Let’s Do Something showed the collective power of people who refuse to stand still.”
The campaign mobilized participation from staff across every department—from finance and communications to monitoring and evaluation and technical leadership—each sharing why their work matters and how they personally “do something” for reproductive health and rights. It also highlighted stories from communities EngenderHealth serves, featuring people working to end child marriage, stop gender-based violence, challenge harmful gender norms, and champion contraceptive access in their own villages.
“Desperate times call for collective measures,” said Anna Temba, Project Director, EngenderHealth Tanzania. “When people act together—across borders and backgrounds—we move closer to health, dignity, and equality for all.”
Through organic and paid social media, email, and print storytelling, Let’s Do Something elevated these stories of courage and compassion while inviting audiences worldwide to join a movement grounded in solidarity. Supported by UpSpring through pro bono PR and marketing guidance awarded after EngenderHealth’s third-place finish in the Launch:HER Awards, the campaign demonstrated that creativity and collective energy can overcome donor fatigue and strengthen engagement around reproductive health and gender equality.
The 5th Annual Anthem Awards received more than 2,000 submissions from 42 countries worldwide. By amplifying the voices that spark global change, the Anthem Awards are defining a new benchmark for impactful work that inspires others to take action in their communities.
