EngenderHealth Releases 2019 Leadership Report
We are excited to share EngenderHealth’s 2019 Leadership Report with supporters, so they can learn about the great work that they make possible around the globe.
This report illustrates EngenderHealth’s philosophy that sexual and reproductive health and rights are goals in and of themselves, and are also means to other ends. We ensure women have access to contraceptive options and the full spectrum of family planning and reproductive health services. We also help women and girls access education and employment options, so they can choose their own paths in life. We see these programs as being closely connected, and we know our supporters do, too.
Last year, EngenderHealth ensured that 6.2 million people had access to family planning services and trained more than 17,000 healthcare providers in 18 countries. Beyond the numbers, the report shares the stories of some of the individuals whose lives have changed for the better because of the variety of services we provide. The Leadership Report tells the story of our economic empowerment efforts in Malawi to mitigate gender-based violence and promote gender equality, as well as our training for social workers in India to enable young girls to pursue an education and avoid forced marriage.
This Leadership Report also notes the ways EngenderHealth continues to grow, with the recent hiring of our new Director of Individual Giving, Audrey M. Johnson. Audrey brings more than 20 years of experience in philanthropic giving, and with her we intend to expand our engagement with supporters like you who ensure EngenderHealth’s independence and long-term viability.
We are proud of the difference our work makes, and our supporters should be too. Please read the2019 Leadership Report and witness the many ways your support is improving women’s lives every day.
