EngenderHealth Previews Participation in 2023 Women Deliver Conference in Kigali, Rwanda
June 21, 2023 (WASHINGTON) – EngenderHealth—a global organization committed to advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and gender equality—will join thousands of advocates, community leaders, policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and youth from around the world at the 2023 Women Deliver Conference (WD2023) in Kigali, Rwanda, July 17–20. Held every three years, Women Deliver is one of the largest multi-sectoral convenings to advance gender equality. WD2023 is the sixth convening and conference organizers expect to host 6,000 people in person and more than 200,000 online. The theme of WD2023 is Spaces, Solidarity, and Solutions.
In alignment with the WD2023 theme, EngenderHealth’s theme for the conference is Partnerships, Inclusion, Equity: Local Solutions for Fulfilling Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights. Building upon this theme, we will be showcasing our achievements and learnings in working at the intersection of SRHR and gender, particularly in supporting feminist and youth-led organizations and advocates to advance abortion care and to prevent gender-based violence and provide care for survivors. EngenderHealth staff and partners will be featured at two panel events—one focusing on abortion, youth, and intersectionality and a second exploring nutrition as a gender equality issue. In addition, we will be co-hosting a side event centering youth partnerships in SRHR and taking part in another side event focused on community engagement and women’s and girls’ access to safe abortion and SRHR in Burkina Faso. EngenderHealth will also be engaging fellow conference attendees at our exhibition booth in the Akagra tent. If you are attending WD2023, please join us at these events and visit our booth.
For more information about our participation in WD2023, please visit our conference microsite at www.engenderhealth.org/wd2023, where we will share digital copies of our booth materials and post our events schedule. Attendees in Kigali are invited to attend EngenderHealth’s scheduled events and visit our exhibition booth—#A 04-05 (Akagera 04 and 05).
EngenderHealth envisions a gender-equal world where all people achieve their sexual and reproductive health and rights. To achieve this vision, EngenderHealth implements high-quality, gender-equitable programs that advance sexual and reproductive health and rights. All of our work is guided by five core values—reflection: we question, challenge, learn, and adapt; inclusion: we are committed to equality, justice, and leaving no one behind; integrity: we are principled and honest, and we walk our talk; respect: we value the wisdom and agency of our collaborators, and appreciate our differences; and transformation: we seek bold ideas and opportunities to innovate for progress.
