EngenderHealth Expands Work in West Africa
Currently, West Africa lags behind other developing regions in family planning use. Fertility rates among the French-speaking countries of the region remain high, with an average of 5.5 lifetime births per woman, and 28% of women of reproductive age have an unmet need for family planning—one of the highest rates of any region globally.
EngenderHealth will be partnering with the Futures Institute, Inc., and EXP Agency Limited to achieve the following goals:
- Improving the delivery of quality family planning information, products, and services
- Implementing service delivery approaches based on evidence of what works best for communities
- Removing policy barriers and improving contraceptive security for women and their families
