Celebrate International Women’s Day with EngenderHealth
Each year on March 8, people around the world celebrate International Women’s Day. It is an important moment to come together to commend progress made toward gender equality, and to build support for the continued work ahead. We ask you to celebrate with EngenderHealth this year, as we highlight the many ways in which our work helps to advance gender equality through sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).
We started our celebrations (just a bit early) by sharing results from a program recently implemented in Bihar state in India. With support from UNICEF, EngenderHealth embarked on a two-month project to improve the survival of newborn girls by engaging Adolescent Girl Champions to address gender differentials in newborn care. Learn more here.
On International Women’s Day itself, EngenderHealth offices around the world are engaging in a number of activities, including staff celebrations, sharing motivational videos with their communities, and more. Our teams in Ethiopia and Tanzania are centering their celebration around women leaders within EngenderHealth (see the stories from Ethiopia and Tanzania). Additionally, we will continue to share program learnings with a discussion on 15 years of USAID-supported progress in fistula prevention, treatment, and reintegration across Africa and Asia. Join our Fistula Care Plus program for Towards a Fistula-Free Future: 15 Years of Breakthroughs and Program Impact.
Throughout this time, we are posting special content on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Across all of these social media channels, we are sharing highlights from our programs, showing how EngenderHealth’s work helps build gender equity. We hope you’ll join us:
