About EngenderHealth Youth
As an international organization, EngenderHealth works to improve the lives of men, women, and families through its work in family planning, maternal health, HIV and AIDS, gender equity, and many other programs.
Our youth-focused work aims to provide young people with the information, resources, and tools they need to feel empowered to make healthy decisions. Past youth initiatives have focused specifically on developing innovative, science-based programs and curricula to improve sexual and reproductive health outcomes and gender equity for young people, while delivering capacity-building training and technical assistance to youth-serving organizations and providers. We are committed to and disseminating programs that engage young people as experts in their own lives and empower them to choose the life they want to live.
June 30, 2020 marks the conclusion of EngenderHealth’s Re:MIX project and the closure of our Austin, TX office. Over the past five years, we have experienced many challenges, lessons learned, and successes, while trying to uphold a team rooted in innovation, inclusivity, engagement, and youth-focused messaging. Funded by the Office of Population Affairs of the Department of Health and Human Services since 2015, Re:MIX has served over 600 students in charter schools in Austin, TX and has strengthened their knowledge and access to youth-friendly health services. Additionally, we are proud of the work of our predecessors in the creation, implementation, and adaptation of the Gender Matters and Gender Matters for Native Youth programs.
We are excited to make many of our Re:MIX and Gender Matters materials available here on our website for free for the long-term.
