Lucie Nyamarushwa
Lucie manages EngenderHealth’s gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and care, family planning services, and HIV care programming in Burundi. She brings more than 15 years of experience working to advance human rights, including the rights of women, and to eradicate GBV in Burundi. Her GBV expertise and experience include leading case investigations and survivor support, facilitating awareness and media campaigns, conducting research and policy advocacy, and supporting training and institutional strengthening activities. Lucie has been leading EngenderHealth’s USAID-funded programming in Burundi since 2014—this includes the BRAVI, GIR’ITEKA, and Mpore projects. Lucie earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Université du Burundi and a Master of Science in Gender, Institutions, and Societies from the Université Lumière de Bujumbura, Burundi.
