Every time a woman speaks up about her experience of sexual violence and she’s not believed, rape culture flourishes. Every time you hear a survivor’s story: 1-Listen. 2-Believe. 3-Support. https://t.co/FG2M7sWbdk #orangetheworld #GenerationEquality

Great session! One takeaway from Maria Bakaroudis of @UNFPA_ESARO: Training and supportive supervision of healthcare providers on rights and needs of people with disabilities is key for provision of respectful care & inclusive health services #ICASA2019Rwanda #ICASA2019

The Philippines

Home to 96 million people, women and men living in the Philippines face both geographic and cultural barriers that impede access to reproductive health care. Fortunately, change is underway. In 2012, after more than a decade of debate, the Filipino government passed a landmark reproductive health bill, the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Law, aimed at achieving universal access to family planning and reproductive health services.

EngenderHealth began working in the Philippines in 1973. Our current work is based in the Visayas region, where nearly 2 million women and girls have unintended pregnancies each year.  EngenderHealth’s work is dedicated to empowering men, women, and adolescents to plan their families and enjoy safe motherhood, and helping ensure that each baby starts life with proper nutrition and good health.
