Paul Perchal, M.P.H.
Vice President of Program Management
Paul Perchal is Vice President of Program Management at EngenderHealth, where he directs and oversees the management of the organization's global programs and program staff.
He also oversees EngenderHealth's HIV/AIDS portfolio, providing technical and management oversight to a global HIV/STI team as well as strategic guidance to the organization in the field of HIV and AIDS and other STIs in 13 countries. He is recognized internationally for leading multilateral and bilateral HIV and AIDS projects that resulted in expanded services and improved approaches to service delivery. He has led the successful introduction of comprehensive services for the prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV (PMTCT) in Brazil, Ethiopia, and the Ukraine that address the needs of antenatal clients and HIV-positive women.
Paul has 19 years of experience as a program director, manager, and senior technical advisor for health and human capacity development programs funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the Global Fund, the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), the United Nations, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He has published widely on male circumcision, the prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) of HIV, and the HIV vulnerability of women and gay men, and has notable field experience in Bolivia, Botswana, Brazil, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, India, Kenya, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, and Ukraine.
Mr. Perchal has a Master of Community and Regional Planning in Public Health degree from the University of British Columbia.
