Dr. Renu Golwalkar

Director, Gender, Youth and Social Inclusion

Renu provides technical leadership to all of EngenderHealth’s program countries to integrate gender, youth, and social inclusion into their programming, with a focus on demystifying and simplifying the models and frameworks for gender transformative change and meaningful youth participation. She has over 18 years of experience in gender transformative change in the context of sexual and reproductive health (SRH), gender-based violence, young people’s participation, women’s economic empowerment, male engagement, and life skills. Prior to EngenderHealth, Renu served as Head of Gender, Equity, and Diversity for CARE India and as a gender consultant with FHI 360. Renu holds a PhD in SRH for Young People from Visva Bharati University and a Master of Social Work from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
