EngenderHealth Announces New Chief Of Staff

May 8, 2017—New York. EngenderHealth, a leading international women’s health organization, is pleased to announce that Emily L. Smith has joined as the new Chief of Staff to support the President and CEO, the executive team, and the entire organization in delivering on its mission.

Smith brings to this role a deep knowledge of the sector coupled with strong background in strategic planning, organizational oversight, and relationship management in complex working environments.

“Emily joins us at a time of great promise and opportunity as we move toward charting the new strategic direction for the organization. Her proven track record in supporting leadership and teams to execute efficiently on their critical priorities will help advance EngenderHealth’s mission to put women and girls first and at the center stage of the global development agenda,” said Ulla Müller, President and CEO.

Smith comes to EngenderHealth from Family Planning 2020 (FP2020), where she started at the inception of the global partnership in 2012 and helped see the organization from its earliest days to the present. Most recently serving as Chief of Staff, she has held various roles to support its leadership and team through its growth and evolution, to establish and streamline processes, and to harmonize crosscutting portfolios of work and operations.

Prior to joining FP2020, Smith worked on the United Nations Foundation’s Women & Population Team, with a primary focus on the Universal Access Project. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Youth, Adult, and Family Services from Purdue University and her Master of Science degree in Human Development and Family Science from the University of Georgia.

“Emily brings an admirable passion and commitment to her work of helping leaders and teams reach their fullest potential, and I know she will be a tremendous asset to EngenderHealth,” Müller said.
