Sexually Transmitted Infections

About EngenderHealth’s “Minicourses”

This course on Sexually Transmitted Infections is the second in a series of EngenderHealth minicourses on reproductive health topics.

While they are not intended to provide comprehensive information, these minicourses are designed to supply a solid introduction to the issues surrounding critical reproductive health topics.

These courses are self-instructional. While we recognize that participatory training is one of the most effective tools for learning, many staff already possess a certain level of knowledge in this area and time for the orientation is limited. These minicourses are designed to serve as an orientation or review for the more factual information, while other issues that demand experiential learning, discussion, and analysis can be covered in a traditional orientation session.

These minicourses are on topics of interest to any health care providers who deal with topics related to sexual and reproductive health. EngenderHealth recommends that users begin the minicourses with the introduction (A Sexual and Reproductive Health Approach) followed by the minicourse on Sexuality and Sexual Health and then the minicourses on Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and HIV and AIDS.
