Answer to Case Study #2:Marcia is expected to accommodate her husbands demands because of her gender. Marcia is a member of the female sex, and the society in which Marcia lives assigns the female gender role a certain value, status, and capacity to contribute to the community at large. The expectation that Marcia will cooperate with her husband's demands is based on gender the socially defined thinking, behaving, and assumption of responsibilities. In this case, the gender roles assigned to women are subordinate to those defined for men.
