Sexual response and Sexual Practices

Answer to Case Study #2:

Explain to Sonia that the aging process brings changes in sexual response and function but does not prevent sexual activity in a healthy person. One of the normal changes for aging men is delayed and less-firm erection. Sexual responses slow somewhat, requiring couples to take more time to enjoy their sexual encounters. Share with Sonia that diseases associated with aging—such as diabetes and hypertension—and the medications used to treat them can negatively affect sexual function. In the absence of disease or drug effect, she and David can explore more extensive ways to enjoy sex and achieve satisfaction.
