CreditsThe development of this online minicoursewhich is part of a three-year project to deliver Web and CD-ROM training to staff working in health facilities in the developing worldwas made possible through a generous grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. EngenderHealth would like to thank the foundation for its continued support of this pilot project. The content of this course is based in part on EngenderHealths Self-Instructional Module: STIs, HIV and AIDS, and Sexuality, written by Dr. Mark Barone and Julie Becker and produced in 1999. EngenderHealth would like to thank the EngenderHealth staff and colleagues who developed, reviewed, and tested this module for providing the solid content on which this course was based. The repurposing of the module as an online, self-instructional minicourse was accomplished through the efforts of a number of EngenderHealth consultants and staff. Content repurposing and much of the original content for the course were provided by EngenderHealth consultant Joanne Tzanis, who was also responsible for the instructional design of the minicourses. EngenderHealth content experts Dr. Mark Barone, Julie Becker, and Peter Twyman and consultant Liddy Leitman reviewed and revised the course, contributing invaluable feedback and much original content. Karen Landovitz acted as team leader for the project and was responsible for overall development, management, and review. Liz Harvey copyedited the manuscript. EngenderHealth consultant Cassandra Cook was responsible for coordinating the production and graphic design of the course. Elizabeth Sharp, Webmaster, was responsible for the HTML coding and specifications, with assistance from consultant Michael Perkins. Consultant David Silverman provided the scripting and interactivity in the course. Virginia Taddoni, graphic designer, provided graphics and developed the clean and lively user interface for the course. Margaret Scanlon provided editorial and production assistance.
