Karen Beattie has been invited to join the editorial board of International Family Planning Perspectives. Beattie is senior director of AVSC's Research and Quality Improvement programs.

Maritel Costales is serving on the editorial board of Immunization Focus, a new publication from the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization. Costales manages AVSC's Philippines program.

"COPE, A Model for Building Community Partnerships That Improve Care in East Africa" appeared in the September/October issue of Journal for Healthcare Quality. The authors are AVSC staff Maj-Britt Dohlie, Erin Mielke, Theodora Bwire, David Adriance, and Feddis Mumba.

Daria Teutonico was quoted in the Chicago Tribune in a recent article about sterilization trends in the United States. Teutonico manages AVSC's U.S. program.

Congratulations to Cambodia program staff Phalkun Cheng, Sokunthea Ok, Somuny Sin, Kheng Chea Leng, Keovathanak Kim, Leang Chhaysuy, and Vuthy Keo. All seven received scholarships to U.S. universities.
