The AWARE II Project
In partnership with Futures Group and Management Sciences for Health, EngenderHealth supports the Action for West Africa Region II (AWARE II) project, a three-year initiative-across 14 countries-funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development. The project builds on and continues the work of the earlier AWARE-RH and AWARE-HIV projects to advance family planning, reproductive health, maternal and neonatal health, and HIV and AIDS prevention, care, and treatment.
EngenderHealth supports AWARE II by improving health outcomes in Burkina Faso, Togo, Mauritania, and Niger, using an integrated approach that includes policy change, the establishment of best practices, and capacity building interventions. This intensive, coordinated effort works to ensure that enabling laws and protocols are in place, and strengthens existing health networks to guarantee the availability of contraceptive, and maternal and child health services.
