Adherence to Treatment for HIV – A Training Curriculum for Peer Educators
This curriculum has been developed to train people living with HIV to be the treatment peer educators and build their capacity to reach out to their peers with information on living healthy with HIV, with a special focus on antiretroviral therapy (ART), adherence to ART, positive living and prevention among HIV positive people. ‘HIV Treatment Education’ empowers people living with HIV/AIDS by making them understand the role of ART in leading a healthy life so they can adhere successfully to their ART regimen and follow up visits to clinic and laboratory.  The curriculum is comprised of a facilitator guide (PDF, 6mb) and participant manual (PDF, 16mb) and can be used by people living with HIV, community members to impart treatment adherence education.  In addition to the English downloads available here, it is available on request in five other languages — Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu.

This curriculum has been developed for training people who handle HIV/AIDS counseling and build their communication and counseling skills needed to reach out to their clients with information on living healthy with HIV, with a special focus on antiretroviral therapy (ART), adherence to ART, positive living and prevention among HIV positive people. ‘HIV Treatment Education and Counseling’ empowers people living with HIV/ AIDS by making them understand the role of ART in leading a healthy life so they can adhere successfully to their ART regimen and follow up visits to clinic and laboratory. The curriculum is comprised of a facilitator guide (PDF, 5.5mb) and participant manual (PDF, 5mb). In addition to the English downloads available here, it is available on request in five other languages — Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu.
