EngenderHealth at the HIV/AIDS Implementers’ Meeting

Several of EngenderHealth’s staff from South Asia and Africa participated in this year’s HIV/AIDS Implementers’ Meeting, held in Kampala, Uganda, June 3–7. The meeting brought together leaders in the field to share best practices and lessons learned and to chart out future directions for HIV and AIDS programs.

EngenderHealth’s oral presentations at the meeting included:

  • Mainstreaming HIV/AIDS Prevention Activities into Multi-Sectoral Plans in Bangladesh
  • Engaging Men Living with HIV as Partners in Positive Prevention—Making a Difference in Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, India
  • Understanding and Overcoming Barriers to Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV in Arusha Region, Tanzania: A Successful Model for Scaling Up PMTCT Services

Poster presentations included:

  • Improving Strategies for Integrating Family Planning into HIV Treatment and Care: Preliminary Findings from Ghana
  • Integrating Tuberculosis Control with HIV Care and Support Services—Lessons from Southern India
  • HIV-TB Infection—Challenges in Follow-Up
  • Ensuring Care and Support Continuum on ART: Capacity Building of PLHIV as Peer Treatment Educators
  • A Comprehensive Approach to PMTCT: Integration of HIV Counseling and Testing in Family Planning and Reproductive and Child Health Services in Tanzania
