Waste Disposal -- Making It Work!

Case Studies

The best way to handle waste at your facility depends in large part on the type and size of the facility (for example, whether it is a hospital, a doctor's office, or a health post), on the amount of waste your facility generates, and on the location of the facility (whether it is urban or rural). This section is designed to help you find ways to apply what you have learned in this module to improve practices at your facility.

  1. Review Current Practices
    • Waste-Disposal Checklist - Use this checklist to help gauge the appropriateness of current waste-disposal practices at your facility.
  2. Staff and Community Education - Help promote safety by educating your staff and the local community about the risks of medical waste.
  3. Strategies for Low-Resource Settings

After reviewing this section, you will have completed this Waste Disposal module. If you have not already done so, you may want to try the case studies for this module for additional practice, or return to the course home page to begin a different module.

If you have completed all the modules for this course, you are ready to take the Final Course Test
