Steps of Wrapping Gloves for Steam Sterilization

Wrapping gloves before steam sterilization helps decrease the likelihood that they will become contaminated before use. To wrap gloves for steam sterilization, use paper, newsprint, or muslin or cotton fabric. Do not use canvas. Wrap gloves with a cuff so that they can be easily put on without contaminating them. Do not roll gloves into balls before sterilization (this makes it difficult for steam to reach all surfaces of the gloves, making sterilization ineffective).
