Sara Seims, Ph.D

Sara Seims works as an independent consultant, after leaving her most recent position as Director of the Population Program at the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation. Prior to joining the Foundation in 2003, Seims was President of the Guttmacher Institute for four years, where she expanded the Institute’s involvement in international reproductive health and behavioral research in HIV and AIDS. She has also served in top positions at Rockefeller Foundation, USAID, National AIDS Fund, National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy, and the Population Association of American. Seims earned her Ph.D. in Demography from the University of Pennsylvania and her B.A. in Anthropology from Rutgers University.
